I claim that the Waterparks is one of my favorite bands, but I am beginning to realize I do not know that many of their songs, so today I took it upon myself to do a deep dive into their music.
The first song I started with is a classic “I Miss Having Sex But At Least I Don’t Wanna Die Anymore”. This song was the first song I heard from them and it was from TikTok, this song is a 10 for me.
“Easy To Hate” was the next song that played. It is from the same album as the previous song, and one thing I like about both songs is that they have a uniform vibe, which I appreciate in an album. So, this song is a 10 too.
After just hearing the intro of “Christmas”, I knew it was going to be a good song. This song also featured Tyler Welsh, though the title of the song threw me off, this is not a Christmas song, but a good one, I would give it an 8.
The fourth song is my favorite song from the Waterparks, “Lowkey As Hell”. Ever since I heard it about 2 years ago, it has stayed in my rotation of songs that I regularly listen to, so it is easy for me to rate this song a 10.
“They All Hate” was the next song to play, and I found the title to be corny, but the song itself is very good, but a corny title can throw me off, no matter how good the song is so my rating for this is a 7.
Remixes, for me, can be hit or miss. In this case, the Alexander Atwood remix of Telephone, for me, was a miss. I think it can be hard to make a rock vibe EDM, and in this case, it was just not done properly. So, I rate this song a 3.
The seventh song had a blackbear feature so I was happy, but something about it just missed the mark for me. It was a good song, but something about it was just too mainstream pop for me. So, I gave it a 7.
“Made In America” is exactly what I did this deep dive for. This song has the exact energy that I always want to hear from the Waterparks, so I was excited about this track and it gave exactly what it needed. It is an easy 10 for me.
I have accepted that anything from the album “Fandom”, I am going to be obsessed with. When “Turbulent” from this album came on, I was excited because I knew it was going to be good, and it was. I give it a 10 as well.
The song I ended this deep dive with is “Numb”. This was from their greatest hits, so I was expecting the best and received just that. “Numb” was automatically saved to my “Feb 2023” playlist, so I have to give it a 10.
