Joyner Lucas

I have only listened to a little Joyner Lucas but I know that people love him, and what I have heard from him, I like, so that is why I chose to do my deep dive on him for this article, I will be critiquing 10 of his songs.

“Isis” was comfortable for me to start with because it is one of his biggest hits, and it was also one of the two songs I knew from him. Also, Logic’s feature is great too, so I would rate this song a 10 with no doubt.

The next tract was different that what I usually think of when I think of Joyner Lucas, but I like it. “Shooting Star” played next, and it reminded me of a lot of classic rap and hip-hop songs so I also gave it a 10.

Calm beats on a rap track make me happy, so, when “Lullaby” came on, I immediately became obsessed with it. Also, the two previous songs that I have listened to have not had features that I enjoy because it gives me more insight into the artist. This song is a 10.

“Look What You Made Me Do” played next, and I liked this song, but it was not my favorite. Though Stefflon Don’s feature was great, I believe Stefflon Don always has good features so that did not shock me. I gave this song an 8.

The fifth song that played was “Zim Zimma” and this was not one of my favorite songs. One thing I pride Joyner on is being different, and this song just sounded like every mainstream rap song, so I gave it a 5.

Hearing one of an artist’s biggest songs come up when doing this always helps me because it shows what is their best work. “Your Heart” came on which is his third most streamed song on Spotify and also features J. Cole, I like it so I gave it a 10.

“Will - Remix” played next, and I was excited because it featured Will Smith. I liked the song, don’t get me wrong, but I wouldn’t consider it either artist’s best work. So as for my rating, I ended up giving it a 7.

The eighth song that played is my all-time favorite Joyner Lucas song. “Stranger Things” is such a great song, and Chris Brown’s feature makes the song a million times better. So this song is an easy 10 rating for me.

“Riding Solo” was next, and I liked this song, but it was not one of my favorites, though I did appreciate Busy Signal’s feature, it made the song better for me. But I do not think it is Joyner’s best work so I gave it a 7.

I ended this deep dive on a pretty good note, “She Knows” was the last song of this deep dive, and it is one of my favorites now. It is a song I want my man to post me to the type of energy, so I gave it a 10.
