Alex Murdaugh Trial Update (Part 8)

The trial of Alex Murdaugh has also remained a huge interest to me as it has progressed, so today, I decided to touch base on it again. A lot is coming out nearly daily with new interesting information.

As we went into Thursday, we started with Heidi Galore, who is a law enforcement operations lead at Snapchat. They start with a video of Alex that was saved to Paul’s Snapchat memories. The video was saved at 7:38 pm, then sent to a friend at 7:56 pm. Weirdly, in the video, he is wearing different clothes. So, now that there is evidence that he changed outfits, I think that he killed them in the clothes that he was wearing and then put those in the wash, changed to go to his mother’s, then put on a different outfit before “discovering” that Maggie and Paul were dead. Or he threw away the clothes he killed them in or even went to the extent of burning them. Throwing away or burning would make the most sense because it is HARD to get blood out of clothing.

The next witness on the stand was Jeanne Seckinger, she is the CFO of Alex’s law firm. She said Alex was confronted about the missing money the day of the murders. She said he put money under Maggie’s name. Now that we have gotten to the point of the financial stuff, this is wild. Huge shoutout to Jeanne Seckinger though for being so invested in her job that she went and found this out, she saved a lot of families.

Dylan Highwater was the next witness on the stand. He was who analyzed the contents of Alex Murdaugh’s phone. He also extracted data from Buster and Randy’s phones. His results though were different from Verizon's. I think it is interesting that the records from the phone’s data and what Verizon has are so different. I would have liked to know more as to why they were so different because as of right now, I have no idea.

A new witness took the stand. Kate McAllister was next to take the stand, she was a part of the group that retrieved Maggie’s phone. She also confirmed that the drains were not checked forensically in the home’s bathroom. I want it explained me to why they first, decided to not pursue the search warrant that was received. I understand that there were several upset family members, but I believe that they all would want justice for Maggie and Paul if anything. This is also how I feel about the lack of forensics that was done in the bathrooms.

Michael Gunn was who took the stand next, he is part of Forge Consulting, where Alex was faking bank accounts. He says they worked on five cases together. They discussed a settlement for Deon Martin, but it never went anywhere. He confirms there was no connection with Forge Consulting to the fake accounts or missing money. I know he has to put his company first but is interesting that he still was public about some stuff, like the conversation with Deon Martin.

Chris Wilson was next to take the stand, he is a friend of Alex. He said they would split fees when partnering with firms. But, on several occasions, Alex had never paid him back. Hearing all of this from someone who is supposed to be one of his close friends makes me so sad, and not only a close friend, but a partner in his law firm. So, to have him get on the stand was very interesting and I am glad he was chosen as a witness.
