The Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl takes place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. This year the two teams that played were Wake Forrest and Missouri. For this game, I picked Missouri to win because they play better, but are just a lower-tier SEC team.
Wake Forrest started this game strong. Taylor Morin started the game for them with a touchdown. But, Mizzou’s Harrison Mesvis responded with a touchdown, but this wasn’t enough for them to pull ahead.
Wake Forrest also started the second quarter well. Justice Ellison got a touchdown for them. Then, Mizzou, this time was able to respond with a touchdown by Demariyon Houston. Sadly, though, this wasn’t enough to put them ahead just yet.
Mizzou was finally able to start a quarter in a way that was best for them, Cody Schrader got a touchdown to start this quarter for them. But, Wake Forrest’s Jahmal Banks got a touchdown for them, but the kick was missed.
Mizzou did not have a chance by the time of the fourth quarter. Taylor Morin scored his second touchdown for the game and Mizzou lost the game 27-17. This was heavily disappointing, especially as an SEC fan.
BOWL COUNT: 10/16
