Tonight is the release of $uicideboy$ new EP with Germ. Fans are incredibly excited by the release of this album as when the following parties have previously worked together, it has been a hit. So my article today, I wanted to introduce both Germ and $uicideboy$ as well as address how everyone is feeling about this album. I also plan on writing my opinion of the album tomorrow (I have a like 11-hour car ride, so a lot can get done).
$uicideboy$ is known as a hip hop/rap duo from New Orleans who are cousins. The two are Ruby Da Cherry and $crim and over the past few years have grown exponentially. Although they initially started making music together in 2014, they did not make it to the top until 2016. Their EP “Radical $uicde” broke with 5 on the U.S. Heat charts, 20 on the independent charts, and 17 on the R&B/Hip Hop charts. But, they made Billboard in 2018 with “I Want To Die In New Orleans” where it peaked at 9. But there were 3 years with no other album on the charts until “Long Term Effects Of Suffering” which peaked at 7 on the Billboard charts, and then their most recent album, “Sing Me A Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation” peaked at 7 as well. They have had 5 singles go gold, “Runnin’ Thru The 7th With MY Woadies”, “Kill Yourself (Part III)”, “Paris”, “2nd Hand”, and “Carrollton”. They have had one single hit platinum, “...And To Those I Love, Thanks For Sticking Around”. Some of their singles that have peaked on the charts being “Genesis” hitting 5 on Billboard Bubbling and 41 on R&B/Hip Hop, “Matte Black” hitting 2 on Billboard Bubbling and 36 on R&B/Hip Hop, “Fucking Your Culture” which hit 14 on Billboard Bubbling and 49 on R&B/Hip Hop, “1000 Blunts” hitting 12 on Billboard Bubbling and 45 on R&B/Hip Hop. Then, recently their single “My Swisher Sweet, But My Sig Sauer” which featured Germ as a hint at this album hit 14 on Billboard Bubbling. $uicideboy$ is also the biggest independent artist at the moment.
Germ is part of G*59 Records, which is a $uicdeboy$ label and is a huge success. Originally getting clout on Vine as a skateboard guy, has now moved to music. He started by working with Fat Nick and Buffet Boys but has now moved to G*59. He has become incredibly successful since and has done previous work with $uicideboy$ that has helped him reach the top. This album will be beneficial for his career.
This album is in a trilogy series and this EP will be the last of the three. With the success of both parties being so high right now, I am excited for both of them, especially Germ, because I believe it will further him a lot more with his career. I believe this album will chart because over the past year $uicideboy$ has grown and become one of the top 30 in Spotify’s top artists. Also, “My Swisher Sweet, But My Sig Sauer” has done so well and has amassed over 5 million streams alone on Spotify which I believe is a good trajectory for the success of this album. I will update you with my opinion on this album as well as what the masses have to say tomorrow!
