Over the past two days, the College Football Division Championships have been happening. I decided to watch every game (well I was planning to watch anyways, but initially did not plan on writing about it). For today, you all get a break from my musical perspectives. Also, before I dive into this, I am an Alabama fan but I can get down with Georgia because a lot of my family attended the school so I know my perspectives are going to piss some people off. I am also starting this, the TCU vs. Kansas State game has started.
The first game I need to talk about is the upset pulled out by Utah when they beat USC last night. I saw this happening, I feel like USC was overrated and people still live off of the hype that they had years ago. But, I am not a big fan of Utah either. Though for the outcome of this game, I am happy that Utah beat USC because this benefits Alabama by getting the ability to play in the championships. So, I am happy with this upset. Though I believe that this will cause Ohio State to go up before Alabama, I refuse to believe that Ohio State played a harder season than Alabama because they never play anyone so I am hoping the polls see that and put Alabama over Ohio State but I find it highly unlikely. The polls always seem so happy about Ohio State and I will never understand why when all they do is disappoint.
This is the division championship of upsets. Kansas State pulled it out enough to beat TCU. Being that I live in Texas, I am sorry for all my TCU friends but right now I need to put myself first and this loss has enabled my initial battle where it was going to either be Alabama or Ohio State for both of them now to be boosted in the polls to go to playoffs. This is incredibly exciting but I am interested to see how the rest of the division championship games play out if we are starting with two upsets.
Tonight did end up being a good night as an Alabama fan, LSU had another division loss but Clemson did win their game which is of no benefit for the Tide. This enabled Alabama the chance to make playoffs. Tulane beating UCF was no shock in my opinion, and Michigan beating Purdue was not a shock at all. I am excited about the bowl season and then of course playoffs, then the National Championship!
