The San Diego Country Credit Union Holiday Bowl takes place at Petco Park in San Diego, California. The two teams that played this year were Oregon and North Carolina. My pick for the win went to UNC.
Oregon came out and dominated the first quarter by getting a touchdown on behalf of Bucky Irving. But, UNC answered with a touchdown on behalf of Andre Greene, I expected a close game, so this first quarter did not shock me.
Bucky Irving came into the second quarter strong by getting his touchdown on behalf of Oregon, but UNC’s Bryson Nesbit was able to answer by getting a touchdown, and then Kober Paysour got a touchdown for UNC as well.
Nothing major happened in the third quarter, but this is one of the few games during this bowl season where I feel that it has gone exactly how I expected, but I am glad to see both teams playing so well as they did have good seasons.
The fourth quarter though certainly got a little exciting. UNC’s Noah Burnette got a field goal. But, Troy Franklin responded with a touchdown and although Noah Burnette got his second field goal of the game, this was not enough to push UNC to the win as Oregon’s Chase Cotts got a touchdown.
