The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl takes place in Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. This year the two teams that played in it were Western Kentucky and South Alabama. For this game, I picked Western Kentucky because they played a much harder season.
The first quarter was a great one for Western Kentucky. Dalvin Smith started off the game for them with a touchdown. Then mid way through the quarter, Joey Beljan got another touchdown for them.
Western Kentucky also dominated the second quarter. Jaylen Hall got a touchdown on their behalf. Then Cory Munson successfully kicked a field goal. Finally, South Alabama kind of answered by getting a field goal on behalf of Diego Guajardo but Western Kentucky’s Malachi Corley responded with a touchdown.
The third quarter was divided. South Alabama started strong after the half with a touchdown on behalf of DJ Thomas - Jones. But, Malachi Corey got his second touchdown of the game and then Cory Munson was successful with another field goal. But, South Alabama ended the quarter strong with a touchdown from La’Damian Webb.
There truly was not much to the fourth quarter. Western Kentucky’s Cory Munson was successful with his third field goal of the game, and South Alabama’s Devin Voison responded with a touchdown, but that was not enough for them to win the game.
BOWL COUNT: 8/13
