The next artist I chose for my deep dive was PLVTINUM. I had heard the remix of his song “Champagne & Sunrise” at a lot of frat parties, but I prefer the original so I wanted to see if I liked any of his other music.
I started my deep dive with the original version of “Champagne & Sunrise”. I chose this to start with because I knew I liked it and I believed starting with the original version would give me the best look into his music. I rate this song a 10.
The next track that came on was “COFFIN”. Because this was the second biggest song by PLVTINUM on Spotify, I went into it with high hopes, but there were too many vibes in this song so I did not like it that much. I rated it a 6.
“Lemonade” was the third track to play on my deep dive. I liked this song a lot but I did find the lyrics a little corny, but the beat behind it was a vibe and I want to see other songs mixed with the instrumental version of it. Due to the corny lyrics, I rated it a 5.
I enjoy songs with features, as I had previously stated, and this one proved my point. The song that came on next was “STAYING UP” and although I had never listened to RILEY, I loved this song. I rated it a 10.
The fifth song that came on was “DRUGS & DIOR”. Because, of the title, I expected a corny song, but I liked this song despite the title. The music is also very uniform which I enjoy. I gave this song an 8 because I hate a corny title.
I am always a big fan of acoustic music, and this song is just what I am looking for in acoustic versions of songs. “12 Step Plan (Acoustic)” gave me Mike Posner vibes who is one of my favorite artists. I rate this song a 10.
“SACRELIGIOUS” came on next, but in all honesty, I was not big on this song. One thing I liked about this album (??) was that all the titles were capitalized. Stuff like that is cool to me. But this song sucked, so 3.
The title of the eighth song was very misleading. “London’s Calling” came on and I got excited but the song itself is pretty mediocre. Though, it fit the vibes of the other songs so I rated it a 5, extra points for that.
Another song with a feature came on next, always exciting in my opinion. “While We Have the Time” which featured Sam Carter is a good song, it gave “Champagne and Sunrise” energy so I rated it a 9 because you can’t beat the GOAT.
Finally, I ended with “Girls On The Internet”. Everyone knows I am the biggest lil aaron fan, so I was excited about this song since he was featured. The vibe of this song was kind of different, but I enjoyed it. I gave it a 10.
My overall impression of PLVTINUM was a lot better than I expected, a lot of the time a musical vibe like his can start to annoy me, but as an artist, he did not. My ending rating for PLVTINUM ended up being a 7.6, which for an artist I don’t know, is good.
