Orville Peck

I had never heard of Orville Peck until his song “Dead Of Night” was in Euphoria, and after that, this exact song came on one of my similar playlists, and since I vibe with music like this, I wanted to dive more into his music.

Because it was the only song I knew, I started with “Dead Of Night”. This scene in Euphoria is so vivid to me and I think this song has some type of energy in it. I am obsessed with it, I gave this song a 10.

The second song that played was “Outta Time”. I think the part of Orville Peck that I like is his voice, it reminds me of Darius Rucker who is one of my favorite artists of all time. I liked this song a lot and ended up rating it a 9.

From what I have seen from his new album, his work is consistently amazing. The next song that played was “Kalahari Down” and this song is incredible. His vibe is different than a lot of popular music right now, but it is so good. I gave this song a 9 too.

“Kids” is from one of Orville’s older albums, and to be honest, this may be my new favorite song from him. The other thing I like about him is his album art, it is so cool. But, I did give this song an 8.

The sixth song that played was “Queen Of The Radio”. This song channeled the same energy as “Dead Of Night” and since they were from the same album it makes me think he channels the same energy within albums which I like. I gave this song a 10.

“Roses Are Falling” played next off the same album, this song again shows the consistency within the “Pony” album which we all know I enjoy. I gave this song a 7 though because I did not like it as much.

I saw the Shania Twain feature and got so excited, and this song did not disappoint. “Legends Never Die - With Shania Twain” played next and it was everything I could hope for and more. I gave this song a 9.

The ninth song that played was “Summertime” and it sounded like one of the songs you hear when the summer in a coming-of-age movie is coming to an end and the lead and her love interest are saying goodbye, but in the best way possible. I gave this song an 8.

I ended this deep dive with “Nothing Fades Like The Light” and I have never felt so much peace in my soul over a song. I could not imagine ending this on a better note. I gave this song a 10.

My end rating for Orville Peck was an 8 and I did not expect it to be this high at all. But, I am happy that I chose to do this. Orville Peck is incredibly talented and he needs to be much more relevant.
