New Mexico Bowl takes place at Unversity Stadium on the University of New Mexico campus in Albuquerque. This year, SMU and BYU are playing in this bowl. I am putting my money on SMU for this game because I want SMU football supremacy again.
In the first quarter, SMU started strong with a field goal. BYU decided to answer with a touchdown. And if that is how this game is going to go, I am not excited. SMU did come back to hit their touchdown which is exactly the energy I expected from them.
The only thing that happened in the third quarter was BYU got a field goal. To be honest, so far, I am shocked by BYU’s performance in this game. Usually, I find them to be overrated but I do not feel that way so far about this game.
BYU also played a strong third quarter. Ben Bywater got a huge 76-yard touchdown about halfway through the quarter which was insane to see, then towards the end of the quarter, Christopher Brooks got another touchdown on the behalf of BYU.
SMU, in the fourth quarter, tried to make a comeback but just could not make it. They did get a touchdown in the beginning, and at the end, they got another but then they tried for a 2-point conversion and failed which cost them the game, this was a stupid move anyways.
BOWL COUNT: 5/8
