The LendingTree Bowl is played at Hancock Whitney Stadium on the University of South Alabama’s campus in Mobile, AL. This year’s game features Southern Miss and Rice. I picked Southern Miss because Rice playing in a bowl game is why I can’t sleep at night.
Jakarius Caston for Southern Mississippi went in strong with this game. He scored a touchdown at about the start of the game. This was about all the excitement that happened in this quarter of the game.
Southern Mississippi players were pulling out all the stunts this game. In the second quarter, Frank Gore had a 64-yard touchdown. After this though, Rice finally answered by scoring a field goal. But then Southern Miss did respond with a field goal.
Rice decides to go into the third quarter strong with Isaiah Esdael getting a touchdown early on in the quarter. Rice was even able to tie it up when Isaiah Esdalae got another touchdown just over a minute later. Rice felt the need to pop off with this quarter because then they proceeded to get another touchdown. Southern Miss did answer with a touchdown though.
In the fourth quarter though, Southern Miss made it their game. They went into the quarter with Jason Brownlee getting a touchdown to put them ahead then Frank Gore Jr. hit another touchdown which had them winning the game 38-24.
BOWL COUNT: 5/7
