Brent Faiyaz

I decided today was the day where I channeled some fuckboy energy. I wanted to do a deep dive into Brent Faiyaz’s music. He is an artist and I know a few of his songs and do enjoy them, but I wanted to get to know him better as an artist.

I started this dive with an absolute classic, “Trust”. This is labeled as his third biggest song, and I do enjoy this song but from what I know about his music, this isn’t my favorite so as for my rating, I gave it an 8.

The next track that played was “ROLE MODEL”. I listened to his new album when it came about, but I didn’t remember this song. I enjoyed it a lot and ended up giving it a like. Therefore, I rated it a 10.

This is another one where I am biased, I do not like intros to albums. So, when “Home” played, at first, I wasn’t big on the track. But, I understood why he did it like that, and I liked the rest of the song so I rated it a 7.

“Been Away” was the fourth song that played. According to Spotify, this is number 5 as his biggest song, but similar to “Trust”, I think he has better music. Though, this is a good song. I rate it an 8.

Brent’s #2 song came on next. I have listened to “ALL MINE” before, and I do enjoy it, but for this to be his second biggest song was shocking to me. I think the one singular fuckboy lyrics in these tracks is what sends these songs to the top. I rated this song a 6.

Now this track is in my Top 3 favorite Brent Faiyaz songs. “Fuck The World (Summer In London) Remix” played. This song is perfect in my mind, and it has a 2 Chainz feature, what could be better? This is an obvious 10.

The seventh song I listened to was “Stay Down”, from what I’ve heard from this album, it isn’t one of my favorites from him, and this song furthered my opinion about this. I rated this track a 6.

A song off of an album I had never heard from him played next. “Running on E” was a pretty good song and it made me want to explore his album more since I don’t know it. I rated it a 9.

“GHETTO GATSY” came on next, and my biased for features was so strong. Alicia Keys is one of the most talented and beautiful people. With her as a feature, the song is going to be good. An obvious 10 for this track.

I ended this dive with “First World Problemz/Nobody Carez”. This song changed my opinion just a tad on the “Sonder Son” album. What I previously stated as one of Brent’s lesser albums, this song was good off of it. I gave it a 9.

This deep dive was a mixed bag for me. My average rating for Brent Faiyaz was 8.3 which seems about right. I liked doing this and have found some new songs to save so I would consider this deep dive successful.
