BLACKBEAR

I have always listened to Blackbear, but I have never really deep-dived into his music. Today I took the time to do so because I do enjoy his music and I want to get to know his new music better. 

I just decided to put all his music on shuffle because I know his work well enough already. The first song I listened to was “fuilu”. I like this song because it is such a bop, but it is not his best, I give it a 6. 

The next song I listened to was “if i were u” which features Lauv. I did not listen to much of this album, and this song is okay, and I love Lauv, but it just missed the mark for me. I give this song a 4. 

“4u” was the next track on this list. This song is one of my favorite blackbear songs so this was easy to rate. I give this song an 8, it is a great song but out of all of his songs, it isn't my absolute favorite. 

The next song is “sometimes i want 2 die”. This is my favorite blackbear song, it makes me sob tears like no other and I love it. The cashmere noose EP does not ever disappoint me. This is easily a 10. 

Now I never heard this blackbear song but I like it. The song is “ain’t trippin”. I love the deadroses album but I have never listened to it in full, but this song is pretty good. I would easily rate it a 7. 

“LOSING YOU” came on next, now I don’t know this song, but I did enjoy it, This was the last blackbear album I listened to but I don’t remember this song. I liked it okay, I would rate it a 7.

Another classic came on, “sniffing Vicodin in Paris”, another one of my favorite tracks off the cashmere noose album. I could listen to this song every day of my life. I would rate this song a 10 easily. 

After this, I listened to “my heart is lost”. Another really good song from the album deadroses. I had never heard this song before but I did enjoy it so I did rate this song as a 9 which is good in my opinion. 

Next was “SICK OF IT ALL”, I had heard this song before and I forgot how good of a song it was. This album is such a mixed bag, in my opinion. But as for my rating, I decided to give this song a 9 too. 

After this, was “me & ur ghost” now when this song first came out, I liked it, but it is not one of my favorite blackbear songs and I find it incredibly overplayed now. So for this song, I would have to rate it a 7. 

So, after exploring him in-depth, my overall rating just based on these songs is a 7. This is a lot lower than I expected when I initially decided to do a deep dive into his music, but it is not the worst score in the world.
