Amine

The next artist I decided to explore more was Amine. He had a lot of big hits but I have never really listened to his music in depth. So, for my article today, I decided to. I just put his music on shuffle after choosing one song I like usually do.

The first song was probably one of his biggest songs. I started with “REEL IT IN” if you have never heard this song then I do not believe you are a real person. I of course rated this song a 10 because it is a classic.

“Woodlawn” was the next song that came on. I had never heard this song before anything from this album. I thought it was alright but I would never choose to listen to this song. So for my rating, I gave it a 6.

Afterward, I listened to Charmander. Although Spotify says this is one of his biggest songs, I did not enjoy it. There were a lot of different vibes in this song and when they mixed, I did not like it. I rated this song a 2.

The next song that came on was “Squeeze”. I started this article with big hopes, but for this to be the third song and I am this disappointed is very off-putting. I ended up giving this song a rating of 2.

Because there was a Young Thug feature in this song, I was excited about this song and I was not as disappointed as I previously had been. I still rated this song a 5 because I did not like it.

A turn in events did happen. The next song that came on was “Faces + Places” and I liked this song, maybe I felt guilty for how I’d been rating Amine as an artist so far but I gave this song a 10.

The next song I listened to featured Gunna, and I love Gunna. This song, “HICCUP” was pretty good and I would listen to it again for sure, and since this turn of events makes me so happy, I rated this song a 9.

“Can’t Decide” came on next and I know this is one of Amine’s bigger hits, but I have never been a big fan of it. I can understand the vibe that is being presented but just something with it misses. I rated it a 6.

“Fetus” had a vibe I liked, but did not expect. I also had never listened to Injury Reserve so I had no clue what to expect from this song. I was shocked by how much I enjoyed it, but I did. I rate it an 8.

The last song was an absolute miss for me. I also had never listened to Valee and I go with an open mind with features, but this just absolutely sucks. “Zack & Cody” was a bad track to end on. I gave it a 2.

I am overall disappointed with this deep dive. I saw so much potential in it which is why I did it but I left disappointed. My overall rating for Amine ended up being a 6. I expected it to be a lot lower. Also, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 300 POST VIEWS!!
