Lindsay Lohan is back!

As I write this article, I am watching the movie. Recently the Y2K queen herself, Lindsay Lohan, has made her return to the scene in the new movie, “Falling For Christmas”, a Netflix film that not only contains Lindsay but other talents like Chord Overstreet (commonly known as Sam from Glee) and even Aliana Lohan, Lindsay’s beloved sister! Although as I start this, I am only about five minutes into the movie (but LOVING it), in this article, I will be giving you all my perception of the movie as well as what the media has been saying about it so far.

Rolling Stone, in their article, describes this movie saying “Falling for Christmas is a holiday romance, a silly mix of fish-out-of-water comedy and amnesia.”. Although now I am only about ten minutes into the film, the description of this is perfect! Lindsay gets to play a fitting role and honestly just do what she does best, entertain a crowd. SPOILER ALERT!!! But just like the all-time classic, Mean Girls, Jingle Bell Rock makes a little musical appearance, which warms my heart. Especially, with a magazine that is as critically acclaimed as Rolling Stone having an opinion this good about a movie, you know it is going to be good.

Another thing that is amazing about this movie is the soundtrack. This movie is filled to the brim with anthems. One of the best parts of it is Aliana has a song on the soundtrack! As quoted from Auralcave, “And it also has a beautiful soundtrack, with many songs that caught fans’ attention. One of the tracks that remain stuck in the viewers’ heads is the one singing “Where would I be without you”: the song is Without You by Aliana Lohan,”. Aliana, who has been singing for years having such a great song on this soundtrack as well as receiving recognition for it makes me so incredibly happy.

Stylist Magazine also goes in depth describing the movie (do not read this article unless you want the entire movie spoiled for you). They also give their final critique of the film stating “I think it might be… it might be pretty good, you know. Not only does it have all the hallmarks of a good Christmas romcom – fake-looking snow, attractive actors, light peril, and a warm, wintry ending – but it also throws in a few curveballs. I’m very much here for its 30-something heroine, its diverse cast, its sexually-fluid secondary love interest, and its cheeky little knowing winks to the camera; Falling For Christmas knows exactly what it is, and it’s entirely unabashed about it.”. With a critique this good, you know it is a movie you can adore.

As I wrap this article and movie up, it is safe to say the Y2K queen herself, Lindsay Lohan, not only returned but she understood the assignment for sure in the movie “Falling For Christmas”.  Chord Overstreet also did not miss whatsoever in his role in this Netflix film. Also having the feature of Aliana Lohan and her singing just made the movie even better. It is safe to say that I agree with Rolling Stone and Stylist Magazine’s opinion on the film, this is a new Christmas classic and even better, with the return of Lindsay Lohan! What could be better? Stream “Falling For Christmas” on Netflix now!
