Koe Wetzel is a country singer from Texas. His biggest hits include songs like Drunk Driving, Something to Talk About, Good Die Young, and a personal favorite, February 28, 2016. His new album is titled Hell Paso and has featured songs like April Showers and Creeps. The two have totaled over 11 million streams together on Spotify and the songs within the album all have above 200,000 streams on Spotify. So what does everyone have to say about Hell Paso so far?

Whiskey Riff has given the song Oklahoma Sun song of the week! Casey Young in her article states “I just love Koe’s vocals on that last line, “and my baby ain’t comin’ around,” and the picture he paints comparing his feelings about his heartbreak to the anticipation of waiting for a storm he knows is brewing, even if the sun is still shining outside right now…A Youtube comment on the song summed it up best, saying the sound of this one was very reminiscent of early 2000’s rock like My Chemical Romance, and even more alternative-leaning bands like Jimmy Eat World”. The song is incredible and the way that Casey described it is just perfect. Oklahoma Sun so far has over half a million streams on Spotify.

Williamson Source even put it on their New Music for You this week list. They state in their article, “Koe Wetzel has released his new album, Hell Paso. Recorded at the iconic Sonic Ranch Studio outside of El Paso, TX, the 13-track LP perfectly blends Koe’s musical influences and carves a unique lane for himself…In speaking about the album, Koe says: “I did what I wanted to do. This was straight up me, nobody told me to do this record. We pulled in every genre we were feeling at the time. We spent the last ten years trying to make this sound, Hell Paso has it.’”

Being a Koe Wetzel fan for so long, it is incredibly exciting to see his success with this album!
